Pernod Ricard celebrates time with latest Ballantine’s Artist Series edition

Pernod Ricard GTR has partnered with artist Noh Sangho for its latest Ballantine’s Artist Series edition.

Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (GTR) has revealed a 21 year old bottling as the latest release in its Ballantine’s Artist Series.

Developed in collaboration with celebrated Korean artist Noh Sangho, the release celebrates the concept of ‘time well spent’.

Blended by master blender Sandy Hyslop, Ballantine’s 21 Year Old has given tasting notes of liquorice, aromatic spice, honey, apple and florals.   

The limited edition is a TR-exclusive and features a vibrant decorative label and presentation box created by Sangho.

To craft his design, Sangho has drawn inspiration from both personal memories as well as the people and beauty he encounters daily. 

He also draws from the digital world in his work, transforming every-day images into bold pieces. 

As part of his partnership with the blended Scotch brand, he has created two paintings called The Great Chapbook – Time Well Spent.

The pieces depict groups of people enjoying activities outdoors. They include natural elements and a palette to show the changing light during the day.

One of the paintings features on the packaging of the 21 year old Ballantine’s Artist Series Edition. The other is found on a 17 year old blend, part of the collection and available on the domestic Korean market.

“The label and packaging, which have been designed by Noh Sangho for the 21 Year Old blend, perfectly align with the brand’s rich heritage and commitment to expert quality, and is a fantastic example of two fine arts, whisky and painting, blending together to create something unique and beautiful.

“We’re excited to launch the new limited edition 21 Year Old blend exclusively for travellers and whisky enthusiasts in GTR, as it’s the perfect bottle for both collectors and gifting occasions.”

Sangho’s illustrations capture the beauty of leisure time.

Noh Sangho added: “When Ballantine’s introduced me to its “Time Well Spent” ethos, it was a concept that deeply resonated with me and reminded me of many happy memories enjoying time with my loved ones. 

“I painted people doing things that they love and expressed the deepening of time whilst enjoying each other’s company, using different colours and accents. 

“This correlates with my creative process; drawing objects, moments and people that I have encountered every day for the past 10 years.” 

Ballantine’s 21 Year Old Artist Edition in collaboration with Noh Sangho is available in travel retail across Asia with an RSP of US$114.
