Rodenstock has unveiled a duo of high-profile promotions in Hainan in partnership with China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

The activations, which showcase the latest eyewear releases from Rodenstock and Porsche Design, occupy premier locations at Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Mall and Haikou International Airport.

“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with China Duty Free Group with promotions in these high-profile locations,” said Lucas Gestin, Director Global Retail & International Key Accounts Eyewear, Rodenstock.

“The sunglasses category has proved its importance to the travel retail market over and over in recent years and we are seeing this again as shoppers return around the world.

“Our innovative designs are crafted from premium materials, which really set them apart for shoppers seeking true luxury and excitement, like those in Hainan.

“These high-profile promotions (HPPs) are a unique opportunity to provide more, both for our shoppers and for our esteemed partners.”

The Sanya HPP focuses on the Porsche Design brand and its brand ambassador Patrick Dempsey, who features on eye-catching artwork installed as part of the promotion.

The Porsche Design 50Y limited edition model P8928 is on display, with selected models on plinths in glass cases to create an elevated shopping experience.

The promotion also features lenses specially selected by CDFG for the promotion as well as a special Porsche Design travel box.

At Haikou Airport, the promotion occupies a disruptive space designed to attract the attention of shoppers passing through the store.

The Porsche Design 50Y limited edition releases are easy to access for shoppers who are short of time, with the spotlight on personalisation with the interchangeable lens models P8478 and P8928 on display.

“The strong partnership between Rodenstock and CDFG has delivered attractive HPPs in Sanya and Haikou,” said Billy Liu, General Manager, Watch, Jewelry and Eyewear, CDFG.

“The Porsche Design 50Y limited edition model P8928 with a nice travel box and interchangeable lens provides a distinctive personalised shopping experience to the travellers.

“The beautiful HPPs help to strengthen the marketing message and provide unique shopping experience to our customers. We are looking forward for more interesting activations with Rodenstock.”

Rodenstock has ramped up its activity in Asia Pacific, and China in particular, in recent years, working alongside CDFG to create engaging offers for shoppers.

During the pandemic, the two companies teamed up to make new models available to consumers through digital channels.

These latest physical spaces come as travel continues to rebound and shoppers return to stores.
