Scott Norris was the standout candidate among a high-calibre field of executives. He joins the team at Agilis Airports Group on 24 October.
Experienced aviation executive Scott Norris has joined Australia’s Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) as its new General Manager Aviation and Commercial.
The former Vancouver Airport VP Commercial Development and VP Strategic Customer Relationships boasts more than 15 years’ experience heading aeronautical and non-aeronautical functions at the likes of Auckland and Perth Airports.
Andrew Brodie, CEO of Sunshine Coast Airport, praised the emergence of Norris among a roster of talented leadership executives attracted by the airport’s expansion plans, new international runway, increasing passenger numbers and connectivity opportunities.
“Scott joins us at the right time as he is a holistic business leader, who has delivered positive change, improved passenger and airline experiences and commercial outcomes,” commented Brodie.
“His experience also extends to growing aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue portfolios with a focus on airline route development, digital marketing, cargo and logistics, real estate, advertising, retail, food and beverage and ground transport product development.
“Scott’s passion for the customer and airport experience, his track record of building high-performing teams and his experience in leading sustainable business practices that positively impact the community and airport, will make him a perfect fit for our business.”
Norris relayed his excitement at working with MCY, which alongside Coffs Harbour Airport is managed by Agilis Airports on behalf of investment manager Palisade Investment Partners.
As such, he will also possess oversight of aviation and commercial activities at Coffs Harbour Airport.
“I am really looking forward to working with the team in contributing to an exciting future and exploring one of the most beautiful locations in the world with my family,” added Norris.
