Leading Australian travel retailer awpl has opened a new Merino Collection store at Auckland Airport.

Located landside, the airport’s second Merino Collection shop offers a premium range of local and international brands housed in a contemporary unit employing a blend of locally sourced woods.

Simon Buckle, Merchandise Manager, awpl said: “We are thrilled to be given the opportunity by Auckland Airport to open a second Merino Collection store, offering luxurious natural fibre products sourced both locally and around the world, with an emphasis on New Zealand companies.

“Our commitment is to enrich customers experience at Auckland Airport and opening this store gives customers more convenient access to a wider range of beautiful knitwear and sheepskin products.”

The Merino Collection shop is designed to immerse visitors in the feeling they are entering a luxury boutique, says awpl.

Sense of place plays out through brands such as McDonald Textiles, which uses the finest selections of Merino wool associated with the famous Merino sheep in New Zealand.

Another label, Knights of New Zealand, merchandises luxury apparel and footwear and is known for using the fur of curly lambs and Opossums.
