Shilla Duty Free gears up for Korean and Chinese New Year

Shilla’s Seoul downtown store will give away pre-paid gift cards and wallets that are attachable to mobile phones to the first 2,019 customers

The Shilla Duty Free (Shilla) is gearing up for the Korean New Year and Chinese New Year with various promotional events.

Its marketing campaign began with a live streaming featuring Chinese internet celebrities on 18 January and 19 January. Targeting its Chinese customers, the live streaming introduced Shilla and its promotions and also provided skincare know-how and make-up tips based on its cosmetics and fragrance lines.

Similar events featuring Chinese internet celebrities were scheduled again for today (23 January) and tomorrow (24 January). Today, celebrities from Chinese online travel sites such as Mafengwo, Ctrip and Tuniu are expected to visit Shilla’s Seoul Store. They will introduce Shilla as a must-visit destination and promote its Chinese New Year events.

CHINESE NEW YEAR EVENTS

Shilla’s Seoul downtown store will give away pre-paid gift cards and wallets that are attachable to mobile phones to the first 2,019 customers spending $200 or more between 26 January and 26 February.

In addition, customers purchasing merchandise to the value of $1,000 or more, are eligible for the ‘Lucky Ball’ event and can win various prizes including pre-paid gift-cards, thermos and travel pouches until 10 February.

Shilla-promotions

The live streaming introduced Shilla and its promotions and also provided skincare know-how and make-up tips.

All customers spending in excess of $300 or $500 in the retailer’s Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 store, will receive $10 and $20 prepaid gift-cards which can be used on the same day.

In celebration of the ‘2019 Korea Grand Sales’, Shilla is offering pre-paid gift-cards and taxi refunds of up to $20.

NEW YEAR CELEBRATION SALE

Discounts of up to 40% are available on various products including international and Korean cosmetics, fashion accessories and daily essentials are available at Shilla’s online store until 6 February.

By visiting Shilla’s official Chinese website, customers can also win various gifts by scanning QR codes. Prizes include a 50g Pure Golden Pig, Samsung laptop, Ctrip gift certificate to the value of RMB3,000 ($442), a one night Shilla Hotel stay and gift-cards.

From 1 Feb to 10 Feb, Chinese customers can save the gold membership card promotion image from the official Chinese website and present it at the Seoul or Jeju stores. They will then receive a gold membership card offering discounts of up to 15%.
