Starboard CS at the helm of cruise restart in China

Blue Dream Star offers a varied assortment of sought-after merchandise spanning beauty, watches, fashion and confectionery.

Starboard Cruise Services has forged an alliance with Blue Dream Cruises to deliver retail shops onboard the first vessel offering outbound cruises from China since the start of the pandemic, TRBusiness can reveal.

A wide range of revered brands and products, from beauty and fragrances to watches, fashion and confectionery, will be available on Blue Dream Star, says LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton company Starboard Cruise Services [see below gallery].

Ocean-going travellers can peruse assortments from world-renowned fashion houses loved by Chinese consumers such as Gucci, Prada, Hugo Boss, Armani, Love Moschino, Ray-Ban and more.

Reports suggest Blue Dream Star made its first sailing from Shanghai to Japan on 26 May.

Starboard Cruise Services’ experience in the China market dates back to 2006, when it set sail with Costa Allegra – at the time the first international cruise line sailing in the Chinese market.

The company says its latest collections on Blue Dream Cruises pay tribute to China’s rich heritage, and bring together a ‘thoughtfully curated selection of global and Asian brands, luxury designers, and treasured mementos that guests can take home to cherish their cruise vacation’.

Asian and international skincare aficionados can discover the Beauty and Fragrance Gallery, housing skincare, sun care and makeup creations from Japanese beauty giant Shiseido; Korean holistic skin care items from Sulwhasoo; and innovations from French luxury beauty brand Sisley.

Meanwhile, the Boutique Gallery celebrates Swiss watch craftsmanship from Longines, Tissot and Titoni.

Blue Dream Cruises is a national cruise brand of Shanghai Blue Dream International Cruise Co, a mixed ownership company invested jointly by Fujian Zhongyun Investment Group, Qingdao Shibei Construction Investment Group and Zhoushan Putuo Transportation Investment Development Group and founded in 2016.
