Sunil Tuli ‘happy and proud’ to lead APTRA again
By Luke Barras-hill |
King Power Group (Hong Kong) Chief Executive Sunil Tuli has expressed gratitude after his selection as the President of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA).
As reported, Tuli will take over from current incumbent Grant Fleming, who is stepping down as President and from his position as Head of Strategic Development – Asia, Lagardère Travel Retail to take on a new role outside travel retail.
Tuli will lead APTRA for a fourth time, having served for three consecutive terms from 2007-2013.
The appointment was confirmed following a vote by the APTRA Board.
MAINTAINING MOMENTUM
In comments shared with TRBusiness, Tuli said: “Obviously, I am happy and proud to be leading APTRA again, and especially at this time, when the industry needs all the support we can get. Under Grant’s presidency, a lot has been done already. Governments have been contacted and progress is being made to work together as an industry.
“Coming in at this stage will not change anything, in fact will add to the good work that has been done so far. I am grateful to Grant and the Board for their efforts to protect the industry so far, and to add value to the businesses through advocacy, networking, training, research etc, and I will continue to build on that.
“We have a fantastic Board at APTRA, and a great membership base, but need more companies to participate as members and be more involved with industry issues.”
