TFWA re-evaluates Asia approach

By Administrator |

TFWA says that it has carried out a detailed re-evaluation of the way in which it serves the duty free and travel retail industry in the Asia Pacific region, with the results both reported to

– and debated by – the TFWA Management Committee at its meeting last month.

The association says that several recommendations were discussed regarding future coverage of the region for TFWA and how the development of the annual TFWA Asia Pacific & GATE ONE2ONE exhibition and conference should be handled; a detailed announcement will be made shortly.

In particular, TFWA says that it has been decided to reallocate the costs of maintaining an administrative office in Singapore to improving the commercial coverage of the region in an even more effective and efficient way. Therefore, the decision has been made to close the TFWA regional office in Singapore.

TFWA emphasises that it nevertheless remains deeply committed to the development of the duty free and travel retail industry in the region. The re-evaluation coincided with the departure of Susan Tan, TFWA's Singapore-based Business Development Manager Asia Pacific, at the end of May.
