Chinese musical theatre actor and singer Ayanga shares his ‘haute couture journey’ with The Ginza in an interview to mark the new boutique opening.

Shiseido Travel Retail has unveiled the first boutique in Hainan for prestige Japanese skincare brand The Ginza, in collaboration with China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

The new space, located within the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex, brings the brand’s minimalist, tailormade skincare solutions to life amid its signature high fashion aesthetic under the banner of ‘Your Skin’s Haute Couture’.

The launch was marked by a grand opening event on 8 July, featuring high-profile Chinese musical theatre actor and singer Ayanga 阿云嘎.

This was bolstered by a 360-degree marketing campaign across owned and CDF channels to drive awareness and traffic, encompassing KOL engagement, livestreaming and programmatic advertising.

“The Ginza’s is a celebration of Shiseido’s birthplace in Ginza, Tokyo, and the introduction of this jewel in the crown of Japanese beauty is timely as we mark Shiseido’s 150th anniversary this year.”

The 54-square-metre boutique has a modern design inspired by the cityscape of Ginza.

Shoppers can discover a range of bestselling products, including the hero serum Hybrid Gel Oil, as well as travel exclusive assortments such as the Best Collection (a three-step skincare regimen) and CDF Luxe Routine Care Set (a three-step luxury skincare ritual).

The Ginza launched in 1975 as a fashion boutique in Ginza, Tokyo and began offering high-performing skincare products in 2002.
