The Perfumist concept enables consumers to choose perfume to suit their needs in less than two minutes.

Aelia Duty Free has tested a new app-based personalised fragrance experience (Perfumist) in its shops at Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport.

The service, tested for two-months helps consumers choose perfume to suit their needs in less than two minutes.

In addition to creating a digital presence in-store, Aelia Duty Free beauty advisors can use the growing database of 12,000+ perfumes to provide customised passenger recommendations.

Featuring products in the Aelia Duty Free Nice airport store the experience is available in more than 24 languages. It is designed to give a selection of the top-10 fragrances for each person.

This is based on criteria such as preferred notes, ingredients, brands and price bracket.

Passenger benefits include the opportunity to identify new fragrances & scents perfectly matching their personal scent profile and preferences.

They can also to save time and select the most suitable solutions among a ‘myriad of choices’ in the perfume catalogues and explore notes and ingredients defining their favourite perfumes.

For Aelia Duty Free beauty advisors, the experience ’empowers’ them through relevant fragrance insights and gives then access to the full perfumes database.

They can also leverage on accurate recommendations to give professional guidance and enhance the customer experience with innovative and personalised technology.

Results from the pilot are ‘extremely encouraging,’ according to Aelia Duty Free.
