Passengers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) can now place their shopping orders online up to two hours before departure for collection as part of a click-and-collect pilot.

Schiphol Airport Retail (SAR), the Gebr. Heinemann and Schiphol Airport venture, and Kappé are collaborating to allow passengers to view and reserve products online and browse offers by by specifying their flight details.

Orders can be collected from SAR and Kappé shops in Lounges 1, 2 and 3 (liquor, tobacco, chocolates and perfumes & cosmetics).

A Schiphol Airport spokesperson said: “It’s clear from our passenger surveys that consumers like to be able to browse through Schiphol’s product range online.

“By giving them this option, we’re responding to consumers’ need to be served through multiple channels. Clearly, during the pilot we’ll see whether this makes things easier for passengers and makes their journey through our airport smoother.”
