ARI declared ?core business?

By Administrator |

It?s official: Aer Rianta International (ARI) has been formally recognised as a core business that will remain under the umbrella of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) with its headquarters in Shannon.

ARI Director General Eamon Foley said: ?We have got a process of preparing a strategic plan and presenting that to the Board and we have had two presentations to the Board this year and the Board have accepted our recommendations in terms of the future strategy for ARI.
?They see ARI retailing as core business and want to hold onto it and want to see it expand and develop. So the strategy is one of what I would call targeted development. So it?s growth, but it?s targeted in markets that we?re already in. I?m not saying restricted to businesses we already run, but markets we are already in. We are talking Europe, Middle East and North America.?
Meanwhile, Aer Rianta International North America (ARINA) has opened a new duty paid fashion shop, branded Runway Exclusive at New York JFK Terminal 4, featuring Hermes, Zegna and Ferragamo. A spokesman for ARI said: ?We got most of the units open last year and finished off three other units in the first half of this year.?
