Contemporary Italian high jeweller Bulgari has partnered with ATÜ Duty Free to open a 90 sqm pop-up store in the departures hall at Istanbul Airport.

The store brings the Roman DNA of the jewellery brand to life in a new, contemporary environment.

Building on the brand’s existing boutique at the hub (which opened in 2019 in Zone 5), it offers a comprehensive range of fine jewellery, watches and accessories, including handbags and small leather goods, with the coveted Serpenti collection the star of the show.

“We are very proud to now present the creations of our highly esteemed partner Bulgari at Istanbul Airport in two dedicated spaces,” said Ersan Arcan, CEO of ATÜ Duty Free.

“Travellers can discover high jewellery and iconic pieces, luxury watches and elegant leather accessories in the Bulgari boutique and in the new pop-up store which are both situated in the ‘Luxury Hill’ area.”

Located in Zone 6, the pop-up has an open layout with its design characterised by the seven giant, individually placed letters of the brand’s Roman logo: BVLGARI.

The celebrated lettering is also woven into a saffron hued carpet, which evokes the colours of the late afternoon sun in Rome.

Displays and counters are finished in bright marble for a further touch of Italian glamour.

“Together with Bulgari, we have created an inviting, surprising brand and shopping experience at a high level,” says Jan Richter, Director Purchasing FAWJ at Gebr. Heineman.

“The pop-up store perfectly complements the Bulgari Boutique as well as our entire exclusive brand world here in Istanbul.

“Its looks and offer make for an exceptional attraction for international passengers.

“We are delighted to continue the successful strategic partnership between Bulgari, ATÜ and Gebr. Heinemann and would like to thank all those involved for the excellent and trusting cooperation.

“The pop-up store is a great example of the powerful innovations it enables.”

Bulgari is equally delighted with the enhanced presence.

“Having complementary shopping experiences in Istanbul airport is key for Bulgari, allowing us to showcase our exceptional creations in the best possible environment and to warmly welcome our clients in different atmospheres,” said Gabriele Arlotta, Director of Bulgari Travel Retail Europe.

“We are very proud of this contemporary pop up, the result of our closed tri-partite collaboration and a real symbol of our strong and valuable partnership built throughout the years.”

ATÜ Duty Free (the joint venture of TAV Airports, Unifree Duty Free and Gebr. Heineman) operates a total retail area of 56,000 square metres at Istanbul Airport.

In addition to the Bulgari boutique and pop-up, ATÜ Duty Free manages over 20 other luxury boutiques at the hub.

Together with its partners, it has created a ‘luxury marketplace’ with mono-brand boutiques and new multi-brand concepts designed to bring the ambience of international department stores to the airport environment.

The retail proposition has been crafted to appeal to the cosmopolitan audience at the hub which welcomes global luxury travellers from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and beyond.
