ATÜ Duty Free, the joint venture between TAV Airports Holding and Unifree Duty Free/Gebr. Heinemann has created a special video to motivate employees worldwide during the Covid-19 crisis.

The video, entitled ‘LuckyToHaveYou’ addresses employees at 20 airports in seven countries. Overseas operations include Georgia (Batumi, Tbilisi and Kutaisi Airports), Latvia (Riga International Airport), Saudi Arabia (Medinah and Salalah Airports) and Tunisia (Tunis Carthage, Enfidha, Monastir and Djerba Airports).

“ATÜ Duty Free closely monitors all measures taken by the health and government institutions and started following all procedures required as soon as the virus began to spread worldwide.

“During this challenging process, we uploaded a video motivating our employees who put all their efforts into carrying out their duties, comprehending the expectations and requirements of guests and offering solutions that create value,” the retailer commented.

In conversation with TRBusiness at the official opening of Istanbul Airport’s new Luxury Square in February, Ersan Arcan, ATÜ Duty Free, CEO said: “We had a very strong start to the year, but the virus has taken our Chinese customers which carry a strong weight in terms of luxury purchases.

“The Middle East is also suffering, but we have to manage the situation. We are a crisis resilient market and have lots of other nationalities. We do not act under panic, but are taking precautions and trying to control the situation.”
