Taking place from August 23 to August 30, ‘That’s the Spirit’ will shine a spotlight on the homegrown brands behind Northern Ireland’s distillery resurgence.

Belfast City Airport has become the first airport in Northern Ireland to launch ‘That’s the Spirit’, a week-long celebration of local spirit brands that are putting Northern Ireland on the global distiller stage.

Speaking at its launch, Michael Jackson, Head of Commercial at Belfast City Airport, said: “As an airport at the heart of the city, we are passionate about showcasing the very best that Northern Ireland has to offer.

We share our distillers’ pride in their creations and want to support local producers, giving our passengers a true taste of the place that we are fortunate enough to call home.”

In partnership with Copeland, Basalt, Boatyard, Hinch, Jawbox, and Titanic Distillers, sampling will take place in Belfast City Airport’s World Duty Free and Aspire Lounge, with special offers and promotions available in The Artisan and Samson’s Kitchen and Bar.

Jackson continued: “Brand representatives will be on hand to share tasting notes and insights into their distilling process, with each bottle representing a story of local heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation.

For those who discover a new favourite, full bottles of all featured spirits will be available for purchase in World Duty Free, ready to be taken home — no matter where in the world passengers are travelling.”

Gerry White, Founder of Jawbox Gin, added: “We’re delighted that Jawbox Gin is part of Belfast City Airport’s ‘That’s the Spirit’ campaign, a brilliant initiative that shines a spotlight on the quality and creativity of local spirits.

Our partnership with the airport and World Duty Free has helped us connect with a global audience, and this campaign is a fantastic way to celebrate local provenance and craft. We hope travellers are inspired to discover the story behind Jawbox Gin and take a little taste of Northern Ireland with them.”
