Bottega releases Platinum Coronation edition to celebrate Charles III

Prosecco producer Bottega has released a commemorative bottling to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

Treviso-based wine and spirits producer Bottega has launched a commemorative Prosecco edition housed in a platinum-hued metallised bottle to mark the coronation of the UK’s King Charles III.

Bottega Platinum Coronation is made from Glera grapes using a double-fermentation process, the first in steel tanks and the second in temperature-controlled autoclaves according to the Martinotto method.

The resulting sparkling wine is said to offer apple, white peach and citrus notes on the nose, with a fresh, delicate palate.

Best served in flutes at 4-5°C, Bottega also states the limited edition is also ideal as a cocktail ingredient.

Bottega Platinum Coronation edition is also especially suited to pairings with risottos, fish, meat and vegetable dishes, and with pizza.

In a press release, Bottega said it has close links to the UK, which was one of its first commercial markets, and it has dedicated the bottling to the new King to mark the “special occasion”.

The coronation of King Charles takes place on 6 May at Westminster Abbey in London.

Last month, Pernod Ricard’s Royal Salute released a limited edition Coronation of King Charles III Edition Scotch whisky to mark the moment.
