World-of-whiskies-TerminalBeam Suntory and Dufry have teamed up to launch a limited edition expression for Bowmore at London Heathrow Airport.

Just 198 bottles of the single cask 20-year old Bowmore 1997 will be merchandised in global travel retail at World Duty Free’s ‘World of Whiskies’ shops at T2, T3, T4 and T5 from 7 December, priced at £295 (£376).

Ed Stening, Global Marketing Director, Beam Suntory Global Travel Retail said: “As a brand, Bowmore is growing fast in travel retail and is very popular with travellers looking to take home a slice of this history and character.

“We are very excited to be working with Dufry, a long-term supporter of Bowmore, to offer this unique and brilliant single cask expression to their discerning, passionate customers.”

The 700ml bottle (ABV 51.2%) will be sold at LHR’s World of Whiskies shops.

BOTTLE SIGNINGS

Bowmore Distillery Manager David Turner will make an appearance at the World of Whiskies shops at T2 and T5 on 7 December to sign bottles of the limited edition liquid.

On the nose, Bowmore 1997 delivers notes of malty biscuit, dried flowers, white pepper, buttery toffee, freshly roasted coffee and vanilla sponge cake.

Flavours graduate to sweet peat with burnt wood, barbecue ash and lemon zest on the palette, before a sweet and smoky finish with lingering herbal and floral hints.

Matthew Scott-Fairweather, Liquor Product and Promotions Manager UK and Central Europe, Dufry added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Beam Suntory to offer this exceptional whisky from Bowmore exclusively to our customers.

“We are confident that this will become an instant collector’s edition.”
