BUD’s SkyCourt transforms to promote self-care education and awareness

In support of World Mental Health Day, Budapest Airport transformed its central SkyCourt promotional area into a space for passengers to concentrate on their mental self-care while travelling.
Budapest Airport (BUD) and its retail partners joined forces last month to recognise World Mental Health Day (10 October).
Working in partnership with Heinemann Duty Free, Relay and SSP, the operator transformed the SkyCourt promotional area into a relaxed and inviting space to encourage passengers to dedicate time to self-care and mental health support.
The SkyCourt’s ‘living room’ allowed passengers to relax on a sofa while reading a book from Relay, eat healthy food or enjoy a cup of coffee courtesy of SSP.
They could also enjoy products from the Ritual of Jing sleep collection, indulge in a Spotify playlist aptly named ‘Breathe in, Fly out’ and explore the airport’s first podcast.
‘The mental health benefit of travelling’ podcast featured a travel blogger and psychologist discussing the topic.
“We’ve seen a growing demand for health and wellness products and the importance of mental health, especially since the pandemic,” commented Bianka Pivarcsi, Retail Marketing Manager, Budapest Airport.
“The core aspiration for our latest promotion was to support our passengers with wellbeing advice, while offering them a cosy space before their flights to strengthen engagement with our partners and the airport.
“We truly believe that we created an effective and innovative way to raise awareness of not only mental health, but of Budapest Airport, travel, and airport retail. Our podcast and playlist certainly made our passengers smile and our promotion allowed them to relax before their flights, which was a gift from us to them.”
