More than 300 UK beauty industry executives attended the CEW (UK) Beauty Awards in London this week, with 5,000 votes cast across 170 products nominated in 21 categories.

Now in its second year, the awards scheme is part sponsored by World Duty Free (WDF)which undertakes to promote the winning products in its shops at its seven UK airports. London stores Harrods and House of Fraser will also feature the brands.
The CEW (UK) Beauty Awards are the only independent awards that recognise product innovation and excellence in UK beauty. Each winner is chosen by industry insiders – the CEW (UK) members – during a lengthy trialling and voting process after the Product Demonstration Event held in February.
World Duty Free Managing Director Mark Riches said: ‘Even though the CEW (UK) Beauty Awards is only in its second year, it has proved a tremendous success; almost double the number of products entered this year and the event is building a strong consumer following.
‘As a sponsor, World Duty Free could not be more proud to support this unique award, which cuts through all the hype to uncover the top, exciting, innovative and cult products for today and tomorrow.’ He said that WDF had once again agreed to continue its sponsorship of the event for 2008.
