US luxury accessories and lifestyle brand Coach has opened separate men’s and women’s shops in Terminal 2A of Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport. The units are located within the Buy Paris multi-brand store area operated by Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire [the joint venture between Aéroports de Paris and Lagardère Travel Retail].

The stores feature Coach’s new Modern Luxury retail concept and its latest collections designed by Creative Director Stuart Vevers. The design, outfitted with warm lighting, hand tufted carpets and fine millwork accents, has what the brand calls “a distinctive New York City attitude”.

‘FULL BRAND EXPRESSION’

Coach International President Giorgio Sarne

Sarne: ‘fashion relevancy’

Giorgio Sarne, President Coach International tells TRBusiness: “Our strategy is to grow through boutiques and give full expression to our brand and its heritage and this year is particularly important because we are starting to celebrate our 75th anniversary [Coach was established in New York City in 1941].

“The opening of our two Modern Luxury stores in CDG is an essential part of our travel retail expansion strategy and signifies the brand’s increasing fashion relevancy. Our location in the airport will allow our traveling customers to experience Coach’s new store environment and latest product offerings.”

Sarne adds: “Regionally we have been focused on Asia but in the past five years we have been very active in the Middle East and are now starting strongly in Europe.”

The CDG men’s and women’s airport stores offer a full range of essentials including handbags, small leather goods, watches, jewellery and fragrance.
