Design X Factor at Hamburg

Hamburg Airport duty free concessionaire Gebr. Heinemann is brightening up its shop at the airport by showcasing scores of designs from across the decades along with competitions for customers, between now and the end of
May.
The company says that 'scores of timeless designs' from down the ages are currently being showcased in the ‘Decades of Design’ exhibition at Heinemann Duty Free's shop – including office furniture and lighting designed by Hadi Teherani. The centrepiece is the 'Silver' office chair, which shot to world-wide prominence in the James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' as the seat occupied by M at MI6 headquarters.
The design exhibition also features classics from furniture manufacturer Vitra – including the graceful Panton chair – and the clocks of George Nelson, which are highly prized by collectors.
Passengers can also obtain such objects from Vitra at lower prices through Heinemann. The company says that the lucky ones can even acquire legendary pieces by designer couple Charles and Ray Eames completely for free: the Lounge Chair and Ottoman is offered as a prize in a Heinemann Duty Free competition, along with the renowned Elliptical Table.
First prize, however, is an Opodo trip to stay at the Delano design hotel in the Art Deco District of Miami South Beach in the USA.
