The outlets at Frankfurt and Düsseldorf will mirror Dixons Travel’s award-winning concept at Heathrow T3 (pictured here).

Dixons Travel will expand its European airport store footprint this Spring with the addition of five shops at Germany’s Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.

Each store will merchandise leading brands as part of varied portfolio that includes computing, audio, imaging, phones and smart appliances as Dixons Travel replicates its award-winning format launched in Heathrow T3 last year.

Product demonstration zones and a mobile charging area will also feature, with store experts available to handle repairs and enable passengers to demonstrate smart-controlled technology.

The announcement follows the launch of two Dixons Travel stores in Oslo in 2017 and adds to the retailer’s existing European footprint, which spans 29 stores across the UK and Ireland.

‘FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES’

Düsseldorf is described as a ‘natural choice’ for a new store due to its focus on premium computing and mobile technology, while Frankfurt offers an opportunity to feed off the airport’s growing passenger base.

Heidi Woodhouse, Managing Director Dixons Travel and Concessions at Dixons Carphone says Dixons Travel is excited to be rolling out the new-look format in an experience curated specifically for travel retail in Germany.

“Through this new store offering, we aim to share our extensive product range, exclusive deals and competitive prices with a rapidly expanding market,” she added. “We are excited about our venture into wider Europe and will look to explore further opportunities.”

The Dixons Travel brand is owned by specialist electrical and telecommunications giant Dixons Carphone.
