Dufry opens new arrival shop

Dufry opened its first duty free arrivals shop at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg yesterday, following the signing off of Swiss legislation permitting duty free arrival shops in Switzerland on June 1.
The new outlet has opened in the bi-national EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport’s Swiss sector of the Airport [Basle airport has arrivals sections serving both Switzerland and France-Ed].
Dufry says it has worked in close cooperation with EuroAirport and the store now sells tax and duty free liquor (above 15% alcohol), sparkling wine, tobacco products and perfume and cosmetics. An extended duty free arrivals shop is expected to be inaugurated in September 2011.
LONG RELATIONSHIP
Dufry has worked with EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport for around 50 years and currently operates five shops in the international departure area. The main shop is based on a walk-through multi-store concept with the traditional duty free assortment including watches and jewellery.
The other four include a fashion boutique, a Hudson News convenience store, plus two gate shops. There is also a sixth store in the departure area of the French sector.
