Eugenio Andrades talks up Dufry’s social media strategy

By Charlotte Turner |

Eugenio-video-still-leadLast week TRBusiness talked to Eugenio Andrades, Dufry’s Divisional CEO UK, Central and Eastern Europe about the continuation of a six-week programme of activations at Gatwick Airport linked to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the reaction of travellers over the holiday period.

He also talked about the growing importance of social media and how it allows Dufry to communicate with travellers before they arrive at the airport, whilst increasing awareness of all that the retailer has to offer in store.

Finally Andrades gave his thoughts on Dufry’s performance in 2016 and what he expects from 2017.

As reported, in the second phase of a six-week programme of Star Wars-inspired activations at Gatwick Airport, actor Warwick Davis – accompanied by stormtroopers – descended on the North Terminal to promote the release of Rogue One on Wednesday 21st December.

The event followed a pre-release launch event, which took place on 23rd November, which saw stormtroopers and Death Troopers march into World Duty Free at Gatwick South as part of a Star Wars ‘takeover’.
