FAR earns fashion stripes with new Saint Laurent boutique

Frankfurt Airport Retail (FAR), a joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and airport operator Fraport AG, is bringing the first Saint Laurent Paris boutique to a German airport.
The new 70sq m shop will offer the French design house’s entire line of accessories with a special focus on women’s handbags. The store will also offer jewellery and textile accessories – such as shirts and scarves – as well as belts and sunglasses.
The new Saint Laurent Paris boutique is located in Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 1 Pier Z Non-Schengen adjacent to fellow Kering Group brand, Bottega Veneta.
“The Kering Group is one of FAR’s and Gebr. Heinemann’s strategically important partners,” says Jan Richter, Director Purchasing Fashion & Accessories at Gebr. Heinemann.
MORE FROM KERING TO COME…
“We are planning further roll-outs with them worldwide. After opening the Bottega Veneta boutique in Frankfurt in April 2018, we are now pleased to be able to open a Saint Laurent store right next door. At the beginning of June, a Gucci store will become the third Kering brand to open in Frankfurt, completing the trio.”
“Saint Laurent is another important conceptual building block in our portfolio of over 75 fashion stores at Frankfurt Airport,” explains Ute Pohl, Senior Vice President Retail at Fraport AG.
“In 2019, we are looking forward to opening around 30 to 40 more new or redesigned stores from all categories. For both our German and international guests, airport shopping is an important part of their travel experience.”
In addition to the Saint Laurent Paris boutique, FAR is celebrating a second debut this week in Frankfurt, when a Boss store opens its doors in Terminal 1 Pier B Non-Schengen. Carrying men’s and women’s collection across all lines (Boss, Athleisure and Casual for men as well as Boss and Casual for women), the store will also stock accessories and shoes.
There is already a mono-brand Boss store at Frankfurt Airport, however, the new 248sq m shop premieres a totally new concept boasting a ‘modern look, which is bright and characterised by high-quality material like marble and wood’.
“The use of digital media, such as screens on the shop façade, adds a contrasting touch,” reveals FAR. “The category walls (denim wall, sneaker wall and polo wall) represent another design novelty.”
