Flemingo Duty Free has inaugurated its first retail store at Tarragona Cruise Port in Spain, marking the start of a long-term partnership with Global Ports Holding (GPH) to develop and operate cruise retail stores across selected ports within its network.
Located within the modern cruise terminal, the 130 sqm store has been designed to provide cruise guests with a premium shopping experience, offering an extensive selection of spirits, wines, tobacco, fragrances, cosmetics, confectionery, fashion accessories, souvenirs and locally inspired Spanish specialities.
As well carrying international brands, the store aims to be a showcase for the region’s identity. Shoppers can discover range of products representing Tarragona and the Costa Daurada, including olive oils, vermouths, wines, nougat and other regional delicacies produced by local suppliers.
The Tarragona store has been launched through JVFA Spain Travel Retail – a JV between Flemingo Duty Free and Altimex S.L. for the development and management of retail spaces in cruise terminals in Spain.
“The opening of our first store at Tarragona Cruise Port marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Flemingo and our partnership with Global Ports Holding,” said P.K. Thimmayya, CEO MEA & Europe, Flemingo Duty Free.
“Tarragona is the ideal starting point for this venture, bringing together a world class port, a rapidly growing cruise market, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional retail experiences.
“As we expand across the Global Ports Holding network, we look forward to creating destination inspired stores that combine global brands, local character, and exceptional customer service.”

The store is located within the new cruise terminal operated by Global Ports Holding, which has been developed as a modern, sustainable gateway for Mediterranean cruise passengers.
It marks the start of the first phase of JVFA Spain Travel Retail’s expansion in Spain, which will continue with new stores at the cruise terminals of Alicante, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Each store, says Flemingo, will feature a retail offer tailored to the characteristics of its destination, incorporating a selection of local products alongside the main travel retail categories.
