Former Tallinn Airport CEO adds weight to Tallink Board

AS Tallink Grupp has made changes to its Management Board, effective 15 April.
Experienced senior management executive Piret Mürk-Dubout joins the Baltic short cruise and ferry company, where she will take responsibility for a number of different areas including Tallink Duty Free.
The Management Board will now operate with five members under the leadership of CEO Paavo Nõgene, according to a stock exchange announcement this morning.
The other members include Lembit Kitter, Kadri Land and Harri Hanschmidt.
EXTENSIVE INTL. TRACK RECORD
Mürk-Dubout joins Tallink from Tallinn Airport, where she has held the position of CEO and Chairman of the Management Board since 2016.
During her tenure, she significantly increased the airport’s business, resulting in it winning a number of awards.
Mürk-Dubout’s resume includes a string of senior marketing and management positions.
These include Senior Vice President – alongside a number of others – at Telia Sonera Ltd (2014-2016); Head of Strategy at Estonian Telecom Ltd (2007-2011), Chairman of Serenada Investment OÜ (2008-2010); Marketing Director and Member of the Board at Estonian mobile operator EMT Ltd (2004-2011).
She has also held the post of Communications Director for internet and phone service provider Elion Ltd (1999-2004).
Mürk-Dubout also has experience in the communications and television industries, serving as Head of External and Internal Communications at the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs; Senior Project Manager at PR firm Hill+Knowlton in Estonia and Finland, and journalism roles with RTV Estonia, Estonia National Broadcasting and CNN in the US.
She possesses an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Estonian Business School, alongside a Diploma in Jurisprudence and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Media and Communications, all from the University of Tartu.
Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp points to Mürk-Dubout’s ‘long and extensive international track record’ as the reason her appointment, which was confirmed by AS Tallink Grupp’s Supervisory Board.
“I am convinced Piret will bring fresh ideas, knowledge and energy into Tallink Grupp and her areas of responsibility will be those where she has a proven track record and which are her greatest strengths.”
In a dual announcement, Management Board Member Andres Hunt has decided to explore new opportunities outside the Group. His mandate concludes on 26 February.
“The Management Board of Tallink Grupp and the whole Tallink family wish Andres all the very best for the future and thank him for a significant contribution to the company during his time here,” added Nõgene.
