Francois Bourienne departs AGS Airports to pursue ‘fresh opportunities’
By Charlotte Turner |
Chief Commercial Officer at AGS Airports Ltd Francois Bourienne, will depart from his role in order to ‘pursue fresh opportunities and to further develop his career’, said the airport group.
Bourienne is currently Chair of the UK Travel Retail Forum and has been outspoken on numerous issues facing the UK travel industry in recent months, including the decision from the UK Government to end tax free sales. Bourienne was first elected as Chair of the UKTRF in 2018 after well-known industry figure Sarah Branquinho stepped down from the role.
Bourienne joined AGS initially as Commercial Director at Glasgow Airport Ltd 10 years ago and has been a key figure in the success and growth of the group, said AGS.
Derek Provan, Chief Executive of AGS Airports Ltd, said: “Francois has been the driving force not only in the many commercial successes Glasgow Airport has enjoyed during his 10 years, but he also played an instrumental role in establishing AGS as one of the industry’s most successful airport groups.
‘CRITICAL ROLE’ IN ABERDEEN AND GLASGOW TRANSFORMATIONS
“He played a critical role in a number of major projects such as the terminal transformations at both Aberdeen and Glasgow and the introduction of the iconic A380 aircraft to the latter’s hugely-popular Dubai service, which was a first for Scottish aviation.
“I am immensely grateful to Francois for all that he has delivered for the business and he should be proud of his many achievements during his time with AGS.”
Denise Gilmour, Head of Retail for Glasgow Airport and Yvonne Birch, Head of Retail for both Aberdeen and Southampton Airports, will continue to work closely with AGS Airports’ retail and F&B partners.
