Richard Hoyer has been with Gebr. Heinemann since 1998.

Experienced Gebr. Heinemann executive Richard Hoyer has taken on the role of Managing Director of Frankfurt Airport Retail (FAR) and joins its management team.

He will assume operational responsibilities for the Heinemann and Fraport AG joint venture.

Georg Fuhrmann maintains oversight of administrative activities in his role as the Managing Director provided by Fraport as his fellow Managing Director Dirk Mörchen steps down.

Hoyer boasts 25 years’ experience with the Hamburg-headquartered travel retailer in a variety of roles including sales positions for its Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Sydney operations. Most recently he was Vice President Sales in Hamburg.

Florian Seidel, Chief Sales Officer at Gebr. Heinemann, said: “With Richard Hoyer, we are giving a very experienced colleague the responsibility of one of our most important locations.

“I am very pleased that Richard has agreed to this move from headquarters to the shop floor. He is the right man at the right time for the position. At the same time, I would like to thank Dirk Mörchen for the work he has done. We wish him all the best for his future path, both personally and professionally.”

The FAR joint venture between Fraport AG and Gebr. Heinemann operates more than 30 stores, encompassing all duty free and travel value points of sale in addition to luxury boutiques and premium brand spaces, over a total sales area of around 12,000sq m.

Karl-Heinz Dietrich, Senior Executive Vice President Retail and Properties at Fraport AG, added: “From Fraport’s side, we are also very happy about the appointment. Richard Hoyer and I have already worked well together in Frankfurt. I am pleased to continue the successful history now in the constellation of a joint venture for FAR.”

Hoyer added: “I am very pleased to take over responsibility for one of the most important locations in the Heinemann universe. I have very many good memories and joint successes associated with Frankfurt, which I would like to build on together with the team.”
