Gebr. Heinemann expands SVO footprint in recently opened Terminal C

Total Sheremetyevo Duty Free retail space will comprise 5,500sq m in the new Terminal C at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
Sheremetyevo Duty Free, the joint venture between Sheremetyevo Airport, Greenway and Gebr. Heinemann have opened a 3,000sq m main walkthrough shop and 500sq m arrival shop in the new Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal C which opened last Friday (17 January).
During the course of 2020, Sheremeytevo Duty Free will also open a multibrand fashion accessories and watches and jewellery shop, several luxury monobrand boutiques and four gate shops in Terminal C. Total retail space will comprise 5,500sq m.
Sheremetyevo Duty Free currently runs more than 50 shops located at Terminals A, B, D, E and F. In 2018, TRBusiness was on location as Imperial Duty Free, the joint venture between Sheremetyevo Airport and Gebr. Heinemann unveiled a dramatic expansion to its retail footprint in Terminal E and Terminal B.
STATE-OF-THE-ART TERMINAL
Oleg Zhytomyrsky, Director Sales Eastern Europe Central Asia, Gebr. Heinemann attended the official opening of Terminal C along with Claus Heinemann, Co-Owner, Gebr. Heinemann, airport owners and authorities, shareholders, government officials and main concessionaires. He said: “This operation is the largest for Gebr. Heinemann in the region and it keeps growing! We are very excited about this development with our partners and are looking forward to the opening of all shops and boutiques later this year. The new terminal is truly state-of-the-art for the 21st century. It is very modern, customer friendly and equipped with many digital elements — and so are our shops.”
He added: “I am convinced that our partnership with Sheremetyevo Airport will flourish even further and that our mutual business here at Terminal C will be a great success.”
Moscow Shermetyevo’s new Terminal C, which forms a single space together with Terminal B, will serve Aeroflot flights. The transfer to Terminal C will gradually take place over the coming months. Completion is scheduled for the end of spring. With a capacity of 20 million passengers annually, the new facility will raise total airport capacity to 80 million passengers per year.
Speaking at the opening of the terminal, Alexander Ponomarenko, Chairman, JSC SIA Board of Directors said: “Our own investments into Terminal С amounted to RUB32bn. This is a critical step as we work towards our strategic goal of serving 100 million passengers per year by 2030. Today, Sheremetyevo Airport is the largest airport in Russia and a critical part of the global transportation system.
“The launch of the new terminal will strengthen our competitive positions within the local and global markets. Our leading position among Europe’s major airports in terms of flight punctuality and passenger service quality proves the business strategy we have chosen is a sound one.”
