Heathrow T5 finds its soul

Duty free and travel retail company World Duty Free is marking the one-year anniversary of the opening of T5 and its stores to showcase a series of three live performances by the internationally acclaimed soul

singer, Mica Paris.

Paris will be performing in the Terminal on March 26 where she is promising to entertain passengers with a powerful mix of gospel and soul numbers accompanied by her guitarist over three sets. These performances will be recorded and played throughout WDF's stores in Terminal 5 on vast digital screens, across five separate locations.

As well as offering exciting entertainment for customers, the broadcasts will also help to highlight the opportunities that exist for other artists to be showcased within the Terminal, as well as the significant sponsorship opportunities that exist for World Duty Free's brand partners.

To add to the occasion, Grey Goose will be offering customers samples of its premium vodka, and Godiva will be sampling its new Truffles Dessert chocolates which are exclusive to Travel Retail.

WDF's digital media concept was launched last year at the opening of T5, featuring high definition feature walls, with digital signage, mood ambient audio and quality merchandising and exciting events. The company says that 'all combine to present the brand, the store and the brand partners' products in a more creative, dynamic and inspiring way.'

Measuring seven metres wide by four metres high, and comprising 24 x 40′ LCD screens mounted in portrait and landscape formats, the main feature wall combines to create the equivalent of one giant high resolution display.
