Heinemann opens at Kastrup

Gebr. Heinemann has announced that it has formally taken over the operation of the Copenhagen Kastrup Airport duty free shops from The Nuance Group, with effect from yesterday.
In what the German travel retailer described as ?a successful takeover? Heinemann said work began on the handover on February 28: ?The smaller pier shops and the arrival shop had already been cleared out and restocked during the morning. Indeed, these were already sporting their new Heinemann look as the green light was given to start clearing out the 2,000sq m main shop at 10 pm on the dot.
?More than 100 of Gebr. Heinemann's workforce had made the journey from Hamburg and Copenhagen was ready with its most knowledgeable specialists to fill the 700sq m interim shop area that will be selling goods until the new main shop is reopened.?
Heinemann said that Henrik Busch, Vice-President of Commercial Affairs at Copenhagen Airport had seen to it that his employees were dressed especially for the task.
Heinemann added: ?T-shirts with two hearts in which the airport and the Heinemann logos merged into one and badges depicting the Danish and German flags provided visual evidence of the delight behind the new cooperation agreement.?
Busch said: ‘We are very impressed with the spirit demonstrated by the Gebr. Heinemann team and the excellent way in which this task has been organized. We are working excellently together and the setting up of this interim area means that we are already enjoying business success.’
Heinemann added that the main shop will be receiving ?a state-of-the-art makeover? before its reopening in June. Until then, the provisional shop in front of Terminal 3 will be open 24 hours a day.
Gunnar Heinemann and Raoul and Kay Spanger were also full of enthusiasm and were quick to roll up their sleeves and help out. ‘Copenhagen Airport and Gebr. Heinemann share the same goals and vision. Together we will achieve a great deal,’ emphasised the company.
