Gebr Heinemann has opened the first Bottega Veneta store at Frankfurt Airport.

Since opening the 70sq m store at the beginning of April, the shop’s turnover has shown its potential, according to the retailer.

Customers include a particularly high proportion of Asian passengers. The product range comprises bags, small leather goods, belts, jewellery and sunglasses and perfumes for men and women.

Georg Fuhrmann, Managing Director FAR said: “The realisation of the mono brand boutique is evidence of an excellent collaboration across all departments between Gebr. Heinemann and FAR. We had great support from the airport as well.

ON-SITE TRAINING

“Bottega Veneta additionally offered three days of training on site, informing our colleagues extensively and in depth about the brand. We have a highly motivated sales team in Frankfurt.”

Jan Richter, Director Purchasing Fashion & Accessories at Gebr. Heinemann added: “In the framework of the Heinemann fashion & accessories strategy, we will further develop our cooperation with the top luxury labels.

“It’s our goal to expand our brand portfolio within the luxury segment, for example, with labels such as French Kering Group, which also owns Bottega Veneta, Gucci and Saint Laurent Paris. The company belongs to the top-five international manufacturers of luxury brands and still has great potential within travel retail.

“We therefore wish to continue to roll-out brands from the Kering Group. As such, the Bottega Veneta shop won’t remain the single luxury boutique in Frankfurt: in the fourth quarter of 2018, stores from Gucci and Saint Laurent Paris will also open in the immediate vicinity.”
