Plans are in place for further expansion, with a goal to roll out to all iCoupon-integrated airports.

iCoupon, a global intelligent vouchering platform, has announced a collaboration with Copenhagen Airport and 7-Eleven Go which means its vouchers are now accepted at vending machines across the airport.

The initiative, currently live in 36 7-Eleven Go operated self-service kiosks and 12 7-Eleven stores, provides passengers with 24/7 access to snacks and drinks.

Richard Bye, CEO of iCoupon, said: “The partnership between iCoupon, Copenhagen Airport and 7-Eleven Go marks a significant step in enhancing the passenger experience at one of Europe’s most prestigious airports.

We’re seeing more and more vending machines in the airport space, and this new enterprise taps into the demand from passengers for ever more choice and convenience. Giving passengers the option to redeem vouchers at vending machines is very much a win-win for everyone.”

iCoupon said the vending machine set-up offers new avenues for revenue generation, while airlines stand to benefit from being able to offer more options to their passengers.

Lasse Bundgaard, business development manager at 7-Eleven Go, said: “This collaboration is bringing value to us in the development of our vending machine experience in CPH.

This partnership isn’t just about convenience; it’s about reshaping the way travellers interact with our services and enhancing their overall experience. We’re looking forward to seeing the results of the new partnership.”

The technology behind the new venture has been provided by software and hardware integration specialists Instant Systems.

Johan Snygg, CTO at Instant Systems, said: “Being part of innovations like this, which aim to improve traveller service and experience at the airport during disturbances, is very fulfilling.

We’re genuinely excited for Copenhagen Airport as the ground breaker in implementing such initiatives and we’re very much looking forward to seeing this initiative expand much further.”

Michael Clausen, director of shopping centre at Copenhagen Airport, added: “We’re really excited to give our passengers more flexibility and choices at Copenhagen Airport with iCoupon at 7-Eleven Go.

Being the first airport to do this, we hope others will see the benefits and follow our lead to improve the travel experience for our passengers.”
