Inigo Meiras is new Ferrovial MD

Inigo Meiras has been confirmed as Ferrovial's new Group Managing Director and the company says that in he will also assume the role of CEO following the completion of a transition period. He is currently
also the CEO of Ferrovial Aeropuertos and Vice Chairman of BAA.
Ferrovial said: ‘With the aim of ensuring a seamless process of succession at the Group's first executive level, while guaranteeing the continuity and increased efficiency in the functioning of the organization, the Board of Directors has agreed to initiate a sensible period of transition, which will further strengthen our management capacity,’ explained Chairman Rafael del Pino.
The new Managing Director will assume this position whilst continuing in his existing roles as CEO of Ferrovial Aeropuertos and Vice Chairman of BAA, positions he has held since May 2007.
Born in Madrid in 1963, of Galician origin, Meir?s is a graduate in Law from the Complutense University in Madrid, and has an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa business school. Since joining Ferrovial in 1992, he has served as Managing Director of the Autopista del Sol toll road, as well as Cintras Toll Roads Director until 2000.
At this time, he was promoted to the Management Committee as CEO of Ferrovial Servicios, when this division was created. He has also served, amongst positions, as Vice Chairman of subsidiaries Swissport and Amey.

He has a deep knowledge of the Group, developed over several years across the various businesses of the company,’ concluded Joaquin Ayuso, who has confirmed his intention to remain involved with the Group, as part of the Board of Directors, once this transition period has concluded.
