Lagardère Travel Retail has won the electronics tender for Gate Z Non-Schengen at Frankfurt Airport.

The travel retailer will introduce three Tech2go stores in the non-Schengen area of Terminal 1 / Z in the first quarter of 2024.

Covering a total area of more than 200 square metres, the Tech2go stores will offer an ‘optimal mix’ of electronics for travel, leisure and business that’s tailored to the needs of travellers at Frankfurt Airport.

“We are delighted to expand our brand presence in the retail sector at Frankfurt Airport with our electronics format, Tech2go, standing alongside Relay, Hub Convenience, Eyelove, and Discover Germany, said Jochen Halfmann, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Germany.

“We also greatly appreciate the trust placed in us through our long-standing relationship with Fraport AG.”

Tech2go invites travelling consumers to immerse themselves in the latest technology, accessories and gadgets, with an ‘exclusive selection of brands and products’ and ‘innovative store design’, paired with ‘excellent service’, says the travel retailer.

Combined with in-store entertainment, the stores create a customer-friendly and interactive shopping experience that’s designed to appeal to visitors of all ages and budgets.

Brands in the stores include JBL, Samsung, Sennheiser and Apple.

In the flagship Tech2go store, the largest of the three areas, guests can unwind in the Bang & Olufsen lounge.

“It was important for us to offer a highly innovative, customer-oriented, and, at the same time, very high-quality range of products in the three areas for electronics in our international departure area Z Non-Schengen,” said Karl-Heinz Dietrich, Chief Representative of Retail and Rental Management at Fraport AG.

“The Tech2go concept has convinced us, and we are sure that our guests will appreciate the wide range of products.”

With the new store openings next year, Lagardère Travel Retail will be represented with Tech2go at four leading airports in Germany: Berlin, Frankfurt, Duesseldorf and Hamburg.

The move brings the total Tech2go store network in Germany to 10.
