LBA adds Leeds United shop amid terminal changes

Yorkshire’s Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) has introduced a Leeds United Football Club retail outlet at its single terminal.
The store, which sells merchandise such as vintage England shirts, adds to a new commercial bill as the airport concludes phase one of a multi-million pound redevelopment programme to transform the departure lounge, providing fresh cafes, restaurants, bars and lounges.
Passengers can now sample cocktails, craft beers and small bites at the Cabin Bar or visit The Beer House – which replaces The Sports Bar.
Aside a new Starbucks coffee shop, travellers can also relax in three purpose-built lounges – The Yorkshire Lounge, The White Rose Suite and 1432 Club, which offer stunning floor-to-ceiling views of the runway.
IMPROVED FACILITIES
Other investments include additional terminal seating, a meet-and-greet parking facility and new terminal façade proudly displaying multi-coloured versions of the famous ‘Y’ logo synonymous with ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’.
LBA Chief Executive David Laws said: “We are delighted to offer our passengers even more choice in our departure lounge, as well as improved facilities for business travellers. We hope people will see this as the start of things to come for this airport.
“Our passengers’ journey begins right here at the airport and it’s vital we give them the best possible experience. We have listened to their feedback and as the development of LBA continues, we hope to keep improving the customer experience and ensure our passengers feel welcome.
“We want the people of our thriving region to get behind their airport and help us move forward.
“Work continues to improve our route offering for both business and leisure services while we are now working on our exciting plans for phase two of the terminal infrastructure to improve security and passenger flow. We hope to have more exciting announcements in the very near future.”
LBA handled 4,078,069 passengers in 2017 as it marked three years of positive year-on-year growth.
