LSTR’s first UK arrivals store lands at Luton

The UK & Ireland division of LS Travel Retail opened its first arrivals shop in the UK at London Luton Airport last week.

Under the Aelia brand, the 44 sq m walk-through shop – located after the baggage reclaim hall and before the landside concourse – offers wine, champagne, whisky, spirits, fragrance, skincare and confectionery.

The store is also a pick-up point for the airport’s ‘Collect on Return’ service, whereby passengers travelling within the UK and EU can shop on departure and collect on arrival into Luton.

Fin Casey (left), Managing Director of LSTR UK & Ireland, says: “This opening reflects our commitment to driving commercial performance. We are now able to offer a choice of retail opportunities to passengers at every step of their journey, on departures with the Travel Galleria Tax and Duty Free and on arrival.”

Rupert Lawrie, Commercial Director, London Luton Airport adds: “The provision of a tax free retail offer for arriving passengers is an integral part of the mix.  The ‘Collect on Return’ service being launched from the new store offers increased convenience and the flexibility to make the most of airport savings.”

LSTR UK & Ireland is a subsidiary of LS travel retail EMEA which operates almost 500 stores at over 70 airports in a dozen countries across Europe and includes Aelia. In addition to Luton, LSTR UK & Ireland has locations at London City, Glasgow and Belfast International airports, a Longchamp boutique in London Heathrow’s Terminal 1, a Watermark Books and a Relay store at London’s Kings Cross and Cannon Street rail stations respectively, and a Lonely Planet store at Manchester Airport. It also has DF&TR retail on board four Irish Ferries vessels.
