Lufthansa’s Miles & More loyalty scheme revs up at Frankfurt Airport

Members of Lufthansa’s ‘Miles & More’ loyalty programme can now earn points across more than 60 shops, restaurants and service facilities at Frankfurt Airport (FRA).

As reported, operator Fraport AG inked an agreement with Miles & More earlier this year as the basis for a joint strategic expansion of the airport’s retail segment.

Fraport says partnering with the loyalty scheme ‘significantly increases the attractiveness of Germany’s largest aviation hub as a retail location’, with travellers and visitors now able to earn miles at the airport.

Companies linked to Miles & More include Gebr. Heinemann and Fraport joint venture Frankfurt Airport Retail, which runs duty free stores and boutiques.

In addition, fashion stores and 29 retail and food concepts from Lagardère Travel Retail covering brands such as Natoo, Relay, Tribs, hub Convenience, Discover and Coffee Fellows are aligned to the programme.

‘More partners’ to come

Fraport says more partners are to unveil in the coming months ‘with the goal of integrating as many stores, services and products as possible at Frankfurt Airport’.

Benjamin Ritschel, Vice President Retail Marketing at Fraport AG, commented: “The strategic cooperation with Miles & More is a logical and consistent step in the further development of the passenger and shopping experience at Frankfurt Airport.

“By using the synergies between the two companies, we can offer our passengers an attractive incentive with the area-wide earning of award miles.”

Miles & More offers points to retail shoppers at Frankfurt Airport.

Participating stores are marked on site with the Miles & More mileage sign ‘M’.

Members can show their digital service card in the Miles & More app or enter it when making an online purchase, with the mileage account credited automatically.

“For our members, we are expanding our portfolio along the travel chain with this partnership and offer new incentives to participate in the Miles & More programme with special offers,” commented Armin Czapla, Senior Director Partner Sales & Ambient at Miles & More.

“The partnership in the triad of the Lufthansa, Miles & More and Fraport brands also offers additional retail potential for all sides at a location that is extremely important for us.”

Registration for the programme can be made via a separate partner site from Frankfurt Airport or via QR codes at all participating stores.
