Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA) reports that it expects the second and final construction phase of its new E.8.9m ($12.6m) commercial retail area at Palma de Mallorca Airport to be complete before the summer of this year.

This project includes the creation of a new commercial area with a total retail sales area covering 3,538sq m, of which 2,627sq m will be restaurants and 911sq m will be shops.

To facilitate the construction of the new shopping area, the airport’s Module C has been partially closed for the estimated execution period of seven months. The construction project is being completed by joint venture company Ecisa y Sampol Ingeniería y Obras.
