Molton Brown Marvellous Mandarin & Spice collection

Molton Brown is putting fragrance gifting in the spotlight with its 2023 Christmas campaign.

Molton Brown has unveiled its annual Christmas campaign led by a new limited edition collection, Marvellous Mandarin & Spice, which is inspired by the British tradition of making Christmas cake.

Crafted by Senior Perfumer Nathalie Koobus, Marvellous Mandarin & Spice is infused with ‘exceptionally generous’ fragrance concentrations.

Characterised by wintry citrus and warm, deep spices, it is designed to capture the ‘memories of family recipes and ingredients strewn across the kitchen table.

Travelling shoppers will be able to discover the Marvellous Mandarin & Spice Hand Wash and Body Lotion in travel retail stores, presented in bottles crafted from at least 50% recycled plastic.

Molton Brown is highlighting the new fragrance with a striking visual campaign across key UK airports over the holiday season.

In addition, festively decorated ‘beauty stations’ and ‘must-have tables’ are being deployed at key airport locations, including London Heathrow, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Stansted, Gatwick and Edinburgh.

At London Heathrow, Molton Brown has partnered with British Airways (BA) to install 17 sponsored Christmas trees in BA lounges across the festive period.

Molton Brown is supporting its festive collection with its popular pre-made gift sets.

“We are delighted to unveil our Christmas offer for our customers and travel retail partners, as we hope to deliver a real feast for the senses during the festive period,” said said Sophie Sponagle, Head of Business Development, Global Travel Retail, Molton Brown.

“Creating amazing experiences is one of the things which sets the fragrance sector apart in travel retail, and we are thrilled to be able to leverage our position as fragrance leader and a British heritage brand to create something truly special this season.

“Sustainability is at the heart of our offer this festive season, as it is with everything we do at Molton Brown.

“Our gift sets and collections are crafted to help our customers share the joy of the season with luxury items, delivered with a conscious care for the world around us.”

The brand is also placing a big focus on gifting at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5, where it opened its new-look flagship store earlier this year.

The Marvellous Mandarin & Spice Hand Wash and Body Lotion are presented in bottles crafted from at least 50% recycled plastic.

To capitalise on the demand for premium gifting and personalisation, Molton Brown has introduced an engraving machine helping customers to ‘put fragrance at the heart of their gift giving’, by creating personal bottles bearing the name of a friend or loved one.

The festive collection is being supported by pre-made gift sets, including the Floral & Citrus and Woody & Aromatic Crackers, the Hand Care Collection, the Stocking Filler Collection, and the Fragrance Layering and Discovery Sets.

Each gift sis presented in a gift box crafted from 100% recycled materials, and the boxes can be recycled again*.

Molton Brown’s Marvellous Mandarin & Spice is a citrus-gourmand fragrance featuring ginger, sparkling mandarin zest and responsibly sourced orange seed oil extract – an upcycled biproduct from the UK food and beverage industry – along with notes of ground cinnamon, seedy dried fruits and nutmeg.

*Consumers need to peel off the base label before recycling the box.
