Munich Airport channels festive spirit with Christmas and Winter Market

Munich Airport Christmas Market

The Christmas and Winter Market will open officially on 17 November.

From 17 November Munich Airport’s popular Christmas and Winter market will once again welcome travellers at the Munich Airport Centre Forum – Europe’s largest covered outdoor space.

Passengers and visitors are invited to enjoy the festivities every day from 11am to 9pm until 31 December, except for Christmas Eve, when the market will close at 4pm.

More than 40 stalls will offer various handicrafts, fashion and jewellery items, making the market perfect for Christmas gift shopping. The food and beverage offer will include seasonal culinary delights and traditional mulled wine.

Munich Airport offers seasonal fun

In addition to the market stalls, the Christmas-themed fir forest will feature ice skating and curling rinks, open every day from 11am to 9pm. The curling rink can be booked in advance via the airport website, and skates can be rented at the rink.

The Christmas and Winter market will offer a selection of free events and activities, including ice discos, ice sculpting, Advent wreath making, puppet theatre shows, and visits from Santa Claus.

The Christmas market is located at the Munich Airport Centre Forum – Europe’s largest covered outdoor space.

In addition, there will be live music performances every day, from 5pm to 8pm. These will incorporate a range of genres, including pop, rock, funk, soul, gospel, folk, jazz and country.

Winter light tours will be available from 17 November until 30 December. These 50-minute tours are designed to allow visitors to look behind the scenes of the brightly lit airport location, and can be pre-booked online.

Munich Airport’s Christmas and Winter market will incorporates a number of free events and activities, including visits from Santa Claus.

Visitors to the Christmas and Winter Market can use a special QR code (accessed via the airport website and event flyers) to enjoy three hours’ free parking at the airport’s P20 car park.
