One hundred percent of the airport’s passengers are now exposed to Heinemann Duty Free shops.

Gebr. Heinemann has enlarged its commercial space at Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport in Ukraine with the opening of a new 191sq m shop.

The Heinemann Duty Free shop, part of a five-year contract, is located behind passport control in the re-opened Terminal F building.

The Hamburg-based travel retailer is the exclusive concessionaire at the airport and already runs 17 shops in joint venture partnerships with local partner BF&GH at Terminal D. Heinemann’s total commercial footprint spans approximately 2,700sq m.

Oleg Zhytomyrsky, Director Sales Eastern Europe & Central Asia at Gebr. Heinemann said: “We are delighted to expand our presence in Kiev and our partnership with the airport in the special year of our ten-year anniversary of successful collaboration.

“We are also very excited to open the first duty free shop in Terminal F and give its passengers the longed-for access to a high quality duty free assortment and attractive prices on their journey.”

Simon Forde, General Manager of BF&GH added: “Terminal F principally serves low cost carriers and charter flights, but we want our passengers to enjoy a first class shopping experience. Whether our customers want premium spirits, prestige perfume brands, i.e. Chanel, Dior and Kilian or tasty confectionary we have a wide choice for them.

“We also have a section of branded sunglasses, which are very popular with the fashionable Ukrainian traveller. We are very happy to have received great feedback from our customers.”

As reported, growth at Heinemann’s Ukraine operations lifted by 20.5% in 2018, the travel retailer revealed during its annual press conference last year. It is due to share its full-year 2019 results on 21 April.
