Moscow Domodedovo Airport has announced the launch of an online platform for pre-ordering duty free goods at market.dme.ru.
The arrivals of the pre-order marketplace in partnership with MyDutyFree marks the first stage of a project to digitalise the airport’s goods and services sales.
In a statement, the airport operator claims that customers can benefit from 7% off the price of goods in shops and a portfolio featuring more than 4,000 Heinemann Duty Free products.
Gebr. Heinemann and local partner Greenway operate in a joint venture (Travel Retail Domodedovo) at the airport.
GROUP BUYING FEATURE
Travellers purchasing products from the catalogue, available in Russian and English, will be able to avail themselves of the online prices, even in cases where they change their order.
Domodedovo Airport says it will use the platform as an ecommerce hub for all service providers at the airport including food companies, taxies and business lounges.
There are also plans to introduce a group buying feature and broaden the service to large Moscow shops.

“Moscow Domodedovo has collaborated with MyDutyFree to introduce the initiative,” read a statement. “Earlier Mydutyfree provided an exclusive solution for pre-ordering duty-free goods at 11 airports in Western and Eastern Europe.
“The company has invented a unique product and successfully integrated it into the airport’s ecosystem. Moreover, MyDutyFree provides technical support for new sellers, creating catalogues and ensuring a seamless connection to the Domodedovo marketplace.”
A note on its website reminds departure travellers to the Eurasian Economic Union (Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan) are not eligible to purchase goods in duty free shops.
