Pimentae prepares to launch RTD cocktail portfolio into global travel retail

Pimentae gets set to spice up the RTD sector.

Tequila-based ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Pimentae will further raise its profile within the GTR channel in February, at Business Traveller’s Cellars in the Sky Awards.

The event, which has been running since 1985, celebrates the best business and first class wines served by airlines inflight. Pimentae will showcase its signature tequila-based cocktails at the Awards, including the best-selling Spicy Margherita.

Pimentae’s RTD cocktails were voted the best canned cocktails by The Independent in 2023. The company has already partnered with a selection of international retailers, restaurants and hoteliers, including Selfridges, W Hotel, Treehouse and Wahaca.

Pimentae was founded by Wynter Karo and Alice Parmiter, to offer bar-quality cocktails and highlight the heritage and complexity of tequila. Its cocktails are available in a number of flavour and format variations, including RTD bottles and cans.

The bottles are said to be ideal for travellers looking for something special to buy at their destination or as a gift. The cans are especially convenient for inflight, airports, and rail travel, according to the brand.

Pimentae also offers a five-litre bag-in-a-box, perfect for cruises, ferries, and speedy onboard serves. This format incorporates 50 x 100ml serves per box.

Pimentae will showcase its signature tequila-based cocktails at next month’s Business Traveller Cellars in the Sky Awards.

Sustainability is a key pillar of the brand. Its plastic-free and fully recyclable bottles and cans are made in the UK. The company hopes to be B-Corp certified in 2024.

Pimentae also donates 1% of its monthly profits to S.A.C.R.E.D – a not-for-profit organisation that works to improve quality of life in the rural Mexican communities where heritage agave spirits are made.

Co-founders Karo and Parmiter commented: “Global travel retail is the next step for the brand. We are dominating the RTD market in the UK, and are excited to expand within this channel.
