Alpin Fresh was recently added to Ricola’s 75g tin range.

Swiss herbal confectionery specialist Ricola has entered the Spanish travel retail market for the first time having secured five listings with Dufry Group.

Dufry duty free stores at Alicante, Bilbao, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Barcelona and Malaga are now stocking the Ricola range of 75g tins. The company says these tins have become popular with travel retailers as impulse purchase products, often located close to or at point of sale areas.

The sugar-free 75g tin range features Original Herb, Lemon Mint and Cranberry flavours and the recently added Alpin Fresh variant.

Ricola-Head-of-DF&TR-Andreas-ReckhartAndreas Reckart, Vice President Region Middle East & Travel Retail, Ricola (left) said: “We’re achieving real momentum with our 75g tins in travel retail and these new listings with Dufry represent a great breakthrough into a key target market for our brand.

“A big part of our travel retail sales strategy is to target impulse purchases with this special conveniently-sized tin. This proposition is a great opportunity for retailers and is helping us to attract a fast-growing number of stockists in global travel retail.”

Philippe Moryl, Global Head of Confectionery, Dufry said: “With their appealing imagery of the confectionery’s Swiss provenance, the Ricola 75g tins will be a very relevant and effective addition to our current assortment of products, as we focus on further growing impulse purchases.”
