Retail inMotion (RIM) has announced a ‘comprehensive technology rollout’ on German carrier Germania to further strengthen the quality of its inflight retail programme.

Under the arrangement, RiM will provide the airline with several proprietary software suite modules to manage its onboard retail functions, covering operations and supply chain logistics, payment and sales processing and analytics support.

iPad Minis have also been introduced into the cabins, equipping crew with inMotion’s Point of Sale solution (vPOS). These also synchronise with Germania’s existing crew app.

“We are passionate about enabling airlines to truly transform the way they approach their onboard retail programs,” commented RiM CCO Jan Blanchard. “With Retail inMotion’s innovative digital retail platform, we are helping Germania turn the page on further enhancing their already high service quality.”

DIGITALISING ‘ABOVE THE CLOUDS’

Markus Alwast, Director Inflight & Guest Experience at Germania said: “We are always striving to improve the daily work of our crews and therefore aim to provide them with the most modern work equipment. Retail inMotion’s technology will give us the opportunity to further digitalise our colleagues’ work above the clouds and thus make it more convenient.”

Retail inMotion’s Sales Manager for Germania Christian Meyerhöfer added: “Digitalisation is a key driver for our partnership with Germania. With this partnership, we’re proud to be helping Germania modernise and further enhance both passenger and crew experience.”
