Roger Federer opens new Lindt boutique in Zurich

Lindt brand ambassador Roger Federer officially opened the redesigned Lindt chocolate boutique at Zurich Airport on 5 April.
Federer, who has a 10-year partnership with Lindt, visited the store and took part in an exclusive meet-and-greet. He also posed for photographs with fans.
Also present, was Lindt master chocolatier Stefan Bruderer, who hosted the event and provided a chocolate masterclass.
Located on Level 2 of the Airside Center at Zurich Airport, the new Lindt chocolate boutique offers travel exclusive creations only available at this specific location.
TRINITY PARTNERSHIP
The boutique is an example of a successful trinity partnership in that it is jointly operated by Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail and Dufry Group in close collaboration with airport operator Flughafen Zürich AG.
The centrepiece of the renovated 130sq m shop is the Lindt master chocolatier station, where customers can enjoy a range of freshly made chocolate delicacies prepared daily by the on-site Lindt master chocolatiers.
These include chocolate figures, chocolate lollies, open chocolate bars and the exclusive Lindt Piemonte range.
The second focal point of the Lindt Chocolate Boutique is the new Pick n’ Mix Paradise, with 18 Pick n’ Mix varieties available to encourage shoppers to try new Lindor flavours. Lindt offers further possibilities to create bespoke chocolate gifts in-store.
At the gifting station, a ribbon printer, message stickers and further gift-wrap options are available to help personalise Lindt gifts. To meet growing demand for more interactive solutions, Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail has launched its Magical Selfie Mirror.
Here, passengers can take a selfie in-store, decorate it with different frames and send it digitally or print.
Paying homage to Zurich, home of Lindt & Sprüngli for almost 175 years, Lindt has expanded its travel retail exclusive portfolio at the Lindt Chocolate Boutique with a selection of Zurich-themed gifts.
A new Lindt Swiss Masterpieces Zurich Edition gift-box and chocolate bar have been added to the Swiss Touristic range, along with a Swiss variant of the newly launched Lindt Assorted Naps World Traveller Collection Tins. Zurich gift-tags will also be available for Pick n’ Mix and other gift items in-store.
Peter Zehnder, Head of the Lindt & Sprüngli, Global Duty Free division said: “The new Lindt flagship store is a symbol of how to bring our mission of sharing magical moments to life.
“With its freshly handmade chocolate delicacies and high level of personalisation and interactive experience with the brand, the boutique is a stunning evocation of the creative spirit of the master chocolatiers.
IMPRESSIVE RENOVATION
“We are very proud to have completed this impressive renovation with our partners, Zurich Airport and the Dufry team from Basel. Fittingly, our brand ambassador Roger Federer, who also hails from Basel, was with us for the opening—he truly embodies the Swiss premium quality that is at the heart of our business.”
Eugenio Andrades, Dufry Division CEO, Europe and Africa added: “Dufry is proud to have jointly developed and now operate the new Lindt & Sprüngli flagship store at Zurich Airport, as it perfectly matches our strategy of offering travellers unique shopping experiences.
“At the same time, it also provides a unique window-display for our brand partners to position and showcase their brands to an affluent audience in an attractive environment. This is a clear example of what a close relationship between airport, brand and retailer can achieve.
“It is also a unique experience for our passengers to have the opportunity to meet Roger Federer who joins us for this very special occasion.”
Stefan Gross, Chief Commercial Officer, Flughafen Zürich AG commented: “The retail and culinary offers in our Airside Center show we are striving for excellence in products and services of the highest quality.
“This is why we are very happy about our partnership with Lindt & Sprüngli. They embody exactly the excellent quality and ‘Swissness’ that is part of our passenger experience.”
Philippe Moryl, Global Head of Confectionery, Dufry concluded: “We are delighted with the new store that Lindt has developed in their home airport. It encompasses all the key commercial components that passengers are looking for when travelling.
“Thanks to the exclusivity of the offer, outstanding service, activations throughout the year and entertainment stations located in different parts of the store, we are giving Zurich airport’s passengers the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable shopping experience.
“This new development illustrates the great achievements we can deliver when collaborating closely with stakeholders and when sharing the same vision and goals for the passengers’ airport experience.”
