Airberlin has chosen Russian Standard Vodka, which is distributed in global travel retail by Rémy Cointreau GTR, as its inflight vodka available for purchase in economy class on all middle-distance and long-haul international flights, with effect from 1st April 2014.

Founded in 1978, airberlin is one of Europe’s leading airlines and the second largest carrier in Germany, operating a global network of 147 destinations and serving 33m passengers per year.

Thomas Kirscht, Rémy Cointreau Travel Retail Area Manager Germany, said: “Russian Standard Vodka’s popularity in travel retail globally sees solid growth year after year as more and more consumers come to appreciate its quality and authenticity.

“We are delighted that Russian Standard Original will now be the vodka of choice on airberlin and that millions more passengers will be able to enjoy ‘vodka as it should be’.”
