Ryanair is the global leader

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has confirmed that Ryanair is the world's number one carrier of scheduled international passengers, handling 57.6m in 2008, just ahead of Air France-KLM which carried 53.3m last year.


A total of 57.647m passengers flew on international routes with Ryanair last year, ahead of Air France-KLM with 53.316m, Lufthansa with 42.151m, easyJet 35.417m, and British Airways with 29.054m
